Global Energy, Tech and Developments Ahead

On a three-city tour March 24-27 in Montana on behalf of Montana World Affairs Council, I’ll be giving two talks about:

1) The Big Synch: Energy, New Era Economy and Innovation

AND

2) Building Bridges, Building Economies: Women’s Opportunity

Below is some background material connected to the women’s sessions presented in Bozeman and at Carroll College in Helena.

Women's Opportunities: Developing World Insights and Digital World Prospects

Strategy Prof. Wendy Bradley and I play forward her research findings looking at women's opportunities based on research in Sierra Leone, competition with big tech, and our musings about the direction of AI. This is a clipped backgrounder from a longer format for a global women's opportunities talk for my session(s). My central message however is much broader.

More later on the first talk to be presented in Bozeman at a dinner engagement, Montana State University, and a Missoula dinner event.

In the preview video above, I discuss the themes I'll be presenting connected to energy, reindustrialization and innovation. It touches on upcoming work to be published in late February. (Because of my research of the last two years, I'm responding to a few relevant ideas put forth by OpenAI in their recently released economic blueprint.) Specifically, I note AI data collection, energy and digital infrastructure, and the development of ecosystems. Bradley and I touch on the topic in today’s context, but it has been in conversation over the last couple of years with the passage of the IRA, Chips and infrastructure bills.

The title of my presentation is called the Big Synch. And basically it's about the sync up between energy, new era economy and innovation. And I will be really touching on some of the feature work published with D CEO from my ongoing analysis, and also presented over the last couple of years.

At the University of Montana in April of 2024, I presented my published work and analysis about the reindustrialization happening in Texas — chips, energy infrastructure and the prospects of reshoring happening in the United States. I'm going to be playing that forward in these presentations, my sequel.

Sponsorship is available still.
